A painting of an old historic mission called Mission San Carlos Carmel that was established in 1770.  It was relocated and built several times. The history and architecture of this mission is fascinating.    I built up the paint on several areas of the painting to make it look three dimensional (fountain, roofs, window, doorway). I love the way the light is inviting you into the mission!  I enjoy painting old historic buildings with so much character and history!

Prints of this painting were purchased by Ron Jon Beach Resort in Cocoa Beach. The resort is now known as the Holiday Inn Resort and the paintings hang over the sofas in the rooms. Sand dunes with wispy sea grass that gently sway in the wind in this seascape painting.  A path between the dunes leads to a sparkly blue ocean.  The coastal painting has a glowing soft sky with puffy luminous clouds. This peaceful beach painting continues around the sides of the canvas.  Since it is on a gallery wrapped canvas, the painting does need to be framed.  This is a painting that I completed as part of the Leslie Saeta 30 day painting challenge.  I am trying to paint almost daily but I am finding out that is easier said than done.
